Button Quail / Chinese Painted Quail Eggs
Button Quail / Chinese Painted Quail Eggs – Adorable, Colourful, Ethically Bred (Cheshire, UK)
Our button quail (Coturnix chinensis) are tiny, cheerful birds full of colour and personality. We keep a large, vibrant flock featuring nearly all recognised colour varieties—wildtype, silver, blue-face, red-breasted, cinnamon, pied + tux(several colours), ivory and more. You’ll receive a lovely natural mix of egg colours, from lightly speckled tan to purple.
We raise all our birds with kindness. We never cull unwanted colours or “undesirable” traits—every quail has a home here. To maintain strong, reliable breeding lines, our pet-only quail live separately from the quail we collect eggs from, ensuring excellent quality while keeping our ethical standards.
Naturally Broody Hens
Thanks to their calm, enriched, and stress-free environment, many of our hens regularly go broody—a trait that can be rare in button quail. Our flock’s natural setup encourages dust-bathing, foraging, and quiet hiding spots, which helps bring out their instinct to sit and hatch. These broody tendencies are genetically influenced, and our breeding groups include hens from strong broody lines, adding an extra touch of natural behaviour to your future chicks.
